CMA Manas Kumar Thakur, FCMA, ICPA (Switzerland), B.Com, B.Sc (Mathematics), served as President of The Institute of Cost Accountants of India (2016–17), (a statutory body under an Act of Parliament).

He is a fellow Member of the ICMAI Institute, Life Member of the International Institute of Certified Professional Accountants (Switzerland), and Qualified Independent Director from IICA.

He has held leadership positions including Central Council Member (2011–15 & 2015–19), Chairman EIRC of ICMAI (2009–10) and Regional Council Member (2004 – 2011), President of ICMAI (2016–17). Internationally,

he has contributed to SAFA as Board Member, Technical Adviser, and Committee Member across various years. He is an author of books on Cost Audit, Operations Management, Valuation Management, Priority Management and Green Cost Accounting. Currently,

he serves as Senior Partner at Thakur & Co. (Cost Accountants), Chairman of Manasi Research Foundation and Finshastra Research Foundation, Board Member of WBREDA and Bharatiya Vidya Bhawan Institute of Management Science, and Advisor to IIAS School of Management Siliguri and Glides Fintellect Pvt Ltd Kolkata.
